It may sound like an incredibly brave and risky step, but it’s also unheard of. 256 players in one game? MAG: Massive Action Game is the first Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) shooter to exist in gaming history. Zipper Interactive have taken on board the many issues that have come from such a project to create this unique online FPS for the PlayStation 3.

In 2025, an international treaty has stipulated countries' military may not leave its own borders. From this, Private Military Corporations (PMC) rise up to the challenge. The competition is fierce, and all bets are off. Anyone can be a client.

There are three different factions to choose from, all with different attributes and weapons. The hi-tech Raven Industries, modern-day Valor Company and the war-torn collective S.V.E.R all differ, offering three private military companies involved in a war to disrupt the world’s peace treaty within country borders.

Divided into squads of eight, you’ll be thrown into faction-specific objectives. Work hard enough in your squad, and you’ll earn points which will later promote you to become group leader, and direct others to certain objectives. You’ll be able to customize your soldier’s face, look and voice, as well as their weaponry.
